Visa Optimization & Supportive Services

In China, this city optimizes exit-entry services for foreigners which is more convenient and offers more supportive services for individuals and enterprises.

On June 7, the Shanghai Immigration has announceda series of measureson June 7 aimed at improving exit-entry services for individuals and businesses.

A

12367 service hotline

The 12367 service hotline provides assistance in both Chinese and English languages.

Foreigners can dial 12367 and choose the English-language service offered by the National Immigration Administration Immigration Affairs Service Center.

B

Single window for work permit and residence permit

To enhance convenience for foreigners, the single window for foreigners' work permit and residence permit, previously limited to Category A foreign talent, has now been expanded to include Category B.

This service is currently available in pilot zones, including

the Pudong New Area,

the Lingang New Area within the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the Hongqiao International Central Business District, and

the Yangtze River Delta integration demonstration zone.

Upon approval, the work permit and residence permit will be issued simultaneously, and the application process can be completed within sevenworking days.

Regarding Port Visa

The port visa department will review the applications within three working days.

Shanghai offers port visa services for those who require urgent travel to  for business or other purposes.

Inviting organizations in Shanghai can submit their applications online through the Government Online-Offline Shanghai platform or the online platform of the Shanghai Entry-Exit Administration Bureau, eliminating the need for physical submission of application documents.

Once approved, the Notification can be downloaded and printed through the online platform.

And invited foreigners can then apply for a visa upon arrival at the Shanghai Port with their "Port Visa Notification."
